Its Diwali Time

Its festival time, Its the announcement of victory. Victory of good over evil. Its the call of the home coming. Returning of the War hero. We celebrated your home coming then, we are celebrating it today and we will celebrate it for times to come.

I still remember the times when i was a kid. I used to go shopping for crackers. We used to carry a basket and stand in queue. It was already decided how many we will buy, still i would try to convince dad to buy a few more. I would open all the crackers and distribute them all in to small plastic bags, one for each day, Dhan teras, Kadi chaudas, Diwali, Bestu Varsh and the one that came after a looooonnnggggg gap ... Dev Diwali :). would open and close the bags, removing all and then putting them back in it out of sheer excitement.

Me along with my friends in society would steal small utensils that people used to keep outside their house to feed cows and dogs in it. We used to light a bomb " Sutri bomb " as it was called and cover it with that utensil. When the bomb explodes, it would fly up high in the air. We planned for this for long times. We woke up at 5 in the morning to steal it. We used to light bombs at 5 in the morning purposely to disturb people sleeping.  Wonderful times they were.

Well the times have definitely changed for now. I used to fire shots back then, today i spend time taking shots with camera. I wish kids today had the same fun that we did. But i still do try to live those times with kids encouraging them to steal those steel bowls. The only difference between back then and now is i was never caught doing this then, but today when these kids get caught they bluntly say it was I who told them to do so :( ..... AAAHHHH those idiots i still get scolded by my mom for that...
